Gold and graphite explorer Volt Resources (VRC) has begun its drilling program at the highly prospective Kouroussa permit in Guinea.

116 auger holes, for 1740 metres, have been planned with 31 holes already drilled.

Kouroussa lies between two northwest-southeast trending structures and previous work has returned up to 1.02g/t gold.

Results from this drilling program are expected to be received later in the March quarter.

Volt has also planned an auger drilling program at the Fadougou permit to test areas subject to artisanal workings. All up, 356 holes, totalling 5340 metres, will be drilled.

Additionally, Volt has completed a review of auger drilling programs to be undertaken across the Nzima and Konsolon permits.

All up, 650 holes will be drilled across both permits to extend the cover of areas of high soil anomalies.

Previous work from Nzima intersected up to 14.5g/t gold while previous work from Konsolon intersected up to 20.25g/t gold.

All of these drilling programs were planned after considering local geology, historical geochemical results, artisanal workings and grab sample assay results.

Furthermore, the aim of this auger drilling is to generate reverse circulation and diamond drilling targets.

Volt is steady on the market and shares are trading at 1.9 cents at 11:20 am AEDT.
