SciDev (SDV) has signed an 18-month contract with SNL for the supply of its MaxiFlox chemistry.

MaxiFlox is the company’s range of chemistry products that are specifically designed for the treatment of wastewater across a range of sectors, including mining, oil and gas, industrial wastewater and construction.

SNL is a subsidiary of Eramet, the world’s number one producer of ferronickel, a key material in the stainless steel market.

Under the contract, MaxiFlox will be used onsite to improve operational efficiency and water use.

The commercial supply will begin in the 2021 financial year for SLN’s Nepoui and Tiebaghi nickel operations.

Revenue for SciDev is expected to land between US$700,000 to US$1 million (A$905,000 to A$1.2 million) over the term of the contract.

SciDev Managing Director and CEO Lewis Utting says the agreement further extends the company’s presence across major mining projects in Oceania.

“SciDev’s technology can add real benefit to our customers processing
abilities as well as reducing their environmental footprint,” he said.

“The continued growth of SciDev and our ability to work with and service major mining companies such as SLN highlights the calibre of the SciDev team in executing the technical evaluations through to commercial contracts with our customers,” he added.

Yesterday, SciDev announced a commercial trial with Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) at its Solomon Hub in WA’s Pilbara region.

On the market today, SciDev is up 2.07 per cent and is trading at 74 cents per share at 12:24 pm AEDT.
