White Rock Minerals (WRM) has secured three diamond drill rigs for its Alaskan Red Mountain project in preparation for the 2021 field season.

One drill rig is already on site, and a further two drill rigs have been secured for use.

Accomodation plans have also progressed. A 20-person camp already exists at Red Mountain from previous years and another 30-person camp at Wood River has now been secured for the Last Chance gold target and its northern prospects.

During the second half of April, White Rock plans to conduct a 1,900-line-kilometre airborne electro-magnetic survey over the Last Chance gold target and northern targets, which will cover some 400 square kilometres.

The Australian exploration company says this type of survey can identify conductivity anomalies to depths of 400 metres, which it hopes could fast track a significant new discovery.

Exploration at the 15-square-kilometre Last Chance target is aiming to uncover intrusion related gold system mineralisation.

The target is located within the Tintina Gold Provincem which also hosts the Donlin Creek, Fort Knox and Pogo gold deposits.

Last year, the maiden drilling program at the target hit multiple intervals of low-grade but significant gold mineralisation.

White Rock is also exploring for high-grade silver-zinc-gold-lead volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits within the East Bonnifield District of the Yukon-Tenana Terrane.

Two high-grade zinc-silver rich deposits have been established at Red Mountain, which have an inferred mineral resource of 9.1 million tonnes at 157 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver, 5.8 per cent zinc and 0.9g/t gold — for an equivalent grade of 13.2 per cent zinc.

Shares have increased 2.5 per cent to 60 cents each at 2:19pm AEDT.
