Los Cerros (LCL) has reported an outstanding intercept from the Tesorito South porphyry target, which is part of the Quinchia Gold Project in Colombia.

Diamond hole TS-DH16 has returned a significant intercept of 460.9 metres at 1.11g/t gold from surface within a broader intercept of 582.3 metres at 0.94g/t gold from surface.

While gold mineralisation started from surface, the drill core also showed higher grades including 254 metres at 1.61g/t gold from 92 metres including 116 metres at 2.32g/t gold and 0.12 per cent copper from 132 metres.

Within this interval is a 34-metre zone grading at 3.03g/t gold and 0.12 per cent copper which marks the highest grade porphyry suite mineralisation that has ever been intersected at Tesorito South.

Today’s result has elevated Tesorito South to a global significant discovery with porphyry mineralisation now shown to continue below and southwest of a fault structure at 356 metres downhole.

“On a gram.metre basis TS-DH16 is the best hole ever recorded in the entire Quinchia district and has raised exciting questions about the potential scale of this gold system,” Managing Director Jason Stirbinskis said.

Diamond drilling is ongoing at the Quinchia Gold Project and assays are pending for another four holes drilled at Tesorito South.

Los Cerros’ shares are up 20.7 per cent and are trading at 17.5 cents at 10:24 am AEDT.
