Emu (EMU) has laid plans to follow up a three-kilometre copper anomaly extending from the Netty Copper Mine in Western Australia.

The find was discovered in a maiden auger geochemistry program at the
company’s Viper project, located near Jerramungup in WA’s Wheatbelt region.

The maiden geochemistry program was directed at testing the potential size and distribution of mineralisation associated with the Netty Copper Mine and its surroundings.

Results have indicated what EMU describes as a “significant” copper anomalism extending east to west for more than three kilometres along the Netty Dyke system as well as a second parallel feature 500 metres to the south extending approximately two kilometres.

The results have prompted EMU to lay plans for a follow-up field program, which will include further infill and extensions to the auger soil grid, rock chip sampling and geological mapping.

EMU said it will likely utilise geophysics to further define targets for drill testing subject to outcomes from the program.

A total of 153 auger holes were drilled along 400-metre spaced north to south lines and sampled from an average depth of two metres as part of the maiden geochemistry program.

Emu shares were down 10.3 per cent and trading 3.5 cents at 1:45 pm AEST.
