Senex Energy (SXY) has penned a three-year gas sales agreement for 29Metals’ Capricorn Copper mine in Queensland.

The agreement will see Senex provide around 2.5 petajoules (PJ) of natural gas over three years. The gas will come from the Diamantina Power Station in Mount Isa, generating the power required to operate the Capricorn Copper mine.

Both parties have also agreed to terms that could see the gas supply extended for a further two years which would increase sales up to around 4 PJ.

Senex has now signed around 80 PJ of agreements with Australian customers including Adbri, CleanCo Queensland, CSR Building Products, Opal, Orora and Visy Glass.
