Audio Pixels (AKP) has found its existing digital sound reconstruction (DSR) loudspeaker technologies can extend for use in earphones and headphones.

The digital loudspeaker company has developed technologies that reportedly generate sound-waves directly from a digital audio stream using electromechanical structures.

Following a development that aimed to improve the efficiency of the loudspeaker technologies, AKP found it also allowed for a new method of sound control for its DSRChip.

Specifically, the company said the adjustment facilitates the production of sound pressure levels that are consistent with in and near-ear usage without compromising the audio resolution.

Moving forward with the development, Audio Pixels said measurements have been taken of the DSRchip in accordance with the industry standard and produced what it believes are “impressive” results compared to “well-known” and “high-end” brands of earphones.

While AKP remains focused on its speaker technologies, it believes this innovation shows that with minimal refinements, its loudspeaker technologies could include the earphone and headphone marketplace which is estimated at $30 billion per year.

Shares were trading 8.42 per cent higher at $26 at 3:04 pm AEDT.
