Fluence Corporation (FLC) has secured a volume contract to treat wastewater from a new partner.

The contract for packaged plants to treat wastewater comes from Yangzhou Yijian Group, located in the fifth most populous province in China, Jiangsu.

The plants will serve up to 46,000 people, with the first volume deployment worth US$2.15 million (A$2.95 million).

An individual Aspiral system can be configured to treat wastewater from as few as 30 to 40 people or up to 4000 people, with an Aspiral plant consisting of one or more Aspiral systems. The number of plants in the area will be determined closer to implementation.

The order is hoped to combat the urgent needs of the Housing and Urban/Rural Development Bureau of Sihong County, with the aim to deploy a solution before the end of the year.

Fluence Chairman and CEO Richard Irving said the company’s ability to rapidly deliver and commission Aspiral solutions was a factor in securing this new partnership.

“This win offers further proof that, even in densely populated areas, Fluence’s Aspiral MABR plants are helping to drive the global trend towards decentralised treatment due to the considerable savings on pipes and other in-ground infrastructure,” said Richard Irving.

“Since Aspiral systems operate automatically without onsite staff and with minimal maintenance, they are the perfect solution for such decentralised deployments.”

Yangzhou Yijian joins existing Fluence volume partners China Three Gorges Group, Hubei ITEST, Kaitian Environmental and Liaoning Huahong.

Fluence Corporation is up 5.88 per cent to $0.18 per share at 11:05 am AEDT.
