Frontier Resources (FNT) has applied for a new area prospective for rare earths and lithium pegmatites in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia.

The area, known as the Mt Clere Project, consists of one exploration licence application, E52/4012, and is considered to be prospective for rare earth elements (REEs) and lithium pegmatites.

An initial review has highlighted multiple sites of interest including some pegmatite occurrences.

Frontier will begin a field exploration program as soon as possible with the aim of identifying and validating the potential for rare earth elements and lithium mineralisation.

Depending on the results, follow-up exploration will be undertaken consisting of soil geochemical sampling, rock sampling and geophysical surveys.

“The strategic pegging of the Mt Clare Project is a great opportunity to expand our exploration focus for rare earths and lithium to complement our existing Gascoyne Project in Western Australia,” Non-Executive Director Brian Thomas said.

“It’s an exciting time for our company and we expect to undertake the on ground reconnaissance exploration work as soon as possible.”

Frontier was up 3.57 per cent on the market with shares trading at 2.9 cents at 12:53 pm AEDT.
