  • Dundas Minerals (DUN) will begin its maiden drilling program at the Jumbuck nickel and Kokoda gold prospects this coming weekend
  • Drilling will be undertaken by Impact Drilling who has confirmed that its drill rig is scheduled to arrive on site by December 10
  • A total of 15 reverse circulation holes will be drilled at both prospects to follow up on historical holes where previous drilling intersected up to 0.55 per cent nickel
  • Results from both prospects are expected to be available during February 2022
  • Shares in Dundas are up five per cent on the market and are trading at 21 cents

Dundas Minerals (DUN) will begin its maiden drilling program at the Jumbuck nickel and Kokoda gold prospects this coming weekend.

Both prospects lie within the prospective Albany-Fraser Orogen in Western Australia.

Drilling will be undertaken by Impact Drilling who has confirmed that its drill rig is scheduled to arrive on site by December 10.

A total of 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes have been planned for Jumbuck with a further 15 included in the approved work program.

This drilling will follow up on hole 11DSRB579 that was drilled in 2011 to a depth of 22 metres.

The bottom-of-hole returned up to 0.55 per cent nickel and while the adjacent holes did not intersect any anomalous nickel, a broad zone of anomalous sulphur was reported.

Dundas also re-processed historical electromagnetic survey data and identified a late-time conductive anomaly to the southwest of hole 11DSRB579. This anomaly is untested by drilling.

A total of 15 RC holes have also been planned for the Kokoda prospect and a further 15 have been included in the approved work program.

Previous work at Kokoda identified a four-kilometre long gold-copper trend that justifies further investigation via drilling at depth.

Shallow drilling was undertaken in 2012 with holes drilled to an average depth of 20 metres and a maximum depth of 20 metres.

Results from both prospects are expected to be available during February.

Shares in Dundas were up five per cent on the market and were trading at 21 cents at 3:11 pm AEDT.
