Centaurus Metals (CTM) will begin trading later today on the US-based OTCQX market under the ticker code CTTZF.

The OTCQX Best Market is the highest-tier of over-the-counter (OTC) markets with 11,000 US and global companies trading.

In order to trade on the OTCQX, companies must meet high financial standards, follow best practice corporate governance and comply with US securities law.

The OTC market was created in 2010 for early-stage and developing US and international companies.

It allows shares to be traded directly between investors rather than through a formal exchange such as the ASX or NYSE.

While they are generally riskier and more prone to manipulation, it is easier to trade between international parties.

Trading on the OTCQX will enhance Centaurus’ visibility and accessibility to the North American market as well as to high net worth investors.

Centaurus Metals remains Australian-headquartered and is focused on the near-term development of its Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in northern Brazil.

Centaurus’ primary listing will remain with the ASX.

Managing Director Darren Gordon is pleased with the new listing.

“We are pleased that our application for our shares to be traded on the OTCQX has been accepted. allowing Centaurus to join the North American financial community at a time of unprecedented investment by the US Government and industry in electrification and decarbonisation initiatives,” Mr Gordon said.

“Whilst a common pathway for registration on the OTCQX Best Market is to upgrade from a lower-level market such as the OTCQB Venture Market, Centaurus’ credentials, market cap and share price have allowed us to directly join to the OTCQX Best Market.”

“This important step to seek entry onto the OTCQX follows the increased level of US investor interest in the company from North American investors – a market which has always had a deep understanding of the mineral endowment and quality of mineral assets in Brazil.”

Centaurus was steady on the market with shares trading at $1.12 at 12:26 pm AEDT.
