Caeneus Minerals (CAD) has intersected anomalous gold from a first-pass exploration aircore (AC) drilling program at its Roberts Hill project in the Pilbara region’s Mallina Basin, Western Australia.

The company said of the 197 holes drilled several returned anomalous results for gold as well as a number of shallow intercepts confirming silver mineralisation.

Drill intercepts included hole RHAC147’s four metres grading 0.42 grams per tonne gold from 80 metres, which Caeneus described as the best mineralised intersection and a new bedrock exploration target within its expanding Mallina Basin exploration portfolio.

The company said mineralised areas of interest will be revisited as part of a broad secondary drilling program also incorporating the eastern portion of Roberts Hill.

Caeneus has now concluded its maiden exploration campaign across Roberts Hill in the Pilbara and said it was currently interpreting the significant technical data received from the AC program ahead of the next round of exploration.

CAD shares were trading 19.2 per cent lower at 1.1 cents at 10.36 am AEDT.
