Sprintex (ASX:SIX) to reveal new air compressors next week

• The new range contains a 100,000 revolutions per minute high-speed electric motor, which is the first time it has ever been used in a 30,000 watt commercial air compressor
• This design makes the product more compact, reliable and cheaper to produce

Sprintex (SIX) will be hosting an open day for its production expansion next week at its air compressor facility in Suzhou, China.

Making an appearance, for the first time, at the open day is the company’s new “ground breaking” high speed electric compressor range.

The new range contains a 100,000 revolutions per minute high-speed electric motor, which is the first time it has ever been used in a 30,000 watt commercial air compressor.

This motor speed allows Sprintex to select the mixed flow design for the compressor.

With less path restrictions air high flow rates, the mixed-flow compressor pushes the aerodynamic efficiency to a record high of 84 per cent, nine per cent higher than the best radial type of air compressors with similar power level.

This design makes the product more compact, reliable and cheaper to produce. Spritnex also uses advanced cooling methods to save a further three per cent power consumption over common air-cooling methodology.

“Sprintex believes this innovation offers the world’s best efficiency for industrial air compressors, yielding the potential for 12 per cent of electricity saving over equivalent capacity,” the company told the market.

Also at the open day, Sprintex will be demonstrating the latest iteration of its industrial air compressor and blower systems for use in environmental and industrial applications.

Managing Director Jay Upton is “very pleased” with the progress of the new e-Compressor division.

“It’s refreshing to see our vibrant and enthusiastic engineering team realising milestone after milestone in their aggressive development program,” he said.

“Our new product range offers a step change in efficiency levels for industrial customers, and with the local government driving the need to reduce power consumption in industry, we are very well placed to service many industries with products that simply use less power.”
