  • Noronex (NRX) begins an infill soil survey at its Daheim copper prospect in Namibia
  • The survey is sampling known high-grade intercepts and will be followed up by drilling to test for extensions and determine the potential for lateral and depth continuity
  • Noronex has also commenced a soil survey at the nearby Snowball project which will also be followed up by drilling

Noronex (NRX) has laid out some exploration plans for its Daheim copper prospect in Namibia.

The Daheim Prospect forms part of the broader Witvlei project which is located on the Kalahari Copper Belt where Noronex recently completed a 13,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

Interestingly, the Daheim Prospect hadn’t been subject to drilling prior to Noronex conducting the recent drilling effort which initially targeted copper soil geochemical anomalies collected in a historical survey that was never followed up.

Drill results were released in early April and uncovered a new copper zone with assays including 27 metres at 1.6 per cent copper from 44 metres including six metres at 2.9 per cent copper

The company has since commenced an infill soil survey where it will undertake 100-metre soil survey lines across a three by two-kilometre area adjacent to the high-grade and wide intercepts.

So far, NRX has collected 480 samples which are currently undergoing preliminary xPRF testing.

Once the soil survey at Daheim is completed, Noronex will conduct an RC drilling program to test for extensions to the known high-grade copper intercepts and determine the potential for lateral and depth continuity.

The company has also begun a soil survey at the Kehora prospect within the Snowball project which is located 20 kilometres northeast of Daheim.

The survey at Kehora will be followed by ground magnetics at the Erfenis, Hennep and Helm prospects before follow-up drilling.

To oversee these exploration programs, Noronex has appointed Mr Riaan Kazondung as Exploration Manager. Mr Kazondung has over 15 years of experience in exploration and project development in Namibia and in other countries.

NRX shares were up 1.92 per cent and trading at 5.3 cents.
