Lykos Metals (LYK) has commenced diamond drilling at its Sinjakovo project in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The drill program will consist of 19 holes totalling 4600 metres at the Rastovaca–Debela Kosa (RDK) copper-cobalt prospect.

The drilling will follow up on historical rock samples and further geological investigation of the area.

The first phase of drilling is expected to take five months. However, this may be accelerated with a second drill rig depending on the outcomes.

Managing Director Mladen Stevanovic said this is the first exploration drilling in the project area in modern times.

“Through our systematic and targeted drilling programs, the exploration team will
grow our knowledge of the area over the coming months, and this will inform the follow-up, Phase 2 program,” he said.

“We are continuing with our systematic exploration programs at all three of our projects,
where we expect to define many more compelling exploration targets for future drilling.”

Shares were trading flat today at 28 cents each at 12:07 pm AEST.
