Lodestar Minerals (LSR) has begun soil sampling across its Earaheedy-Imbin project in the Earaheedy Basin of Western Australia.

The company will carry out this round of work out over multiple electromagnetic conductors representing potential base metal targets, identified by a regional survey flown in July 2021.

From the survey data, most conductors were identified outside an area where historic exploration was carried out, in shallow sand cover.

Previous geochemical sampling was impeded by this type of thin sand cover and, as such, LSR will use an ultrafine soil sampling method.

The program was originally planned for May but was put on hold due to unseasonal rainfall.

Now, with around 2000 samples designed to test 28 conductors, the WA-explorer expects the program to take up to three-weeks to complete.

CSIRO has provided a helping hand and will apply an analysis package to aid the interpretation of the data once the samples are collected.

Lodestar said this program marked the next step towards confirming drill targets for its drilling program set for the coming months.

Shares in Lodestar Minerals last traded at 0.6 cents on July 1.
