Noronex (NRX) has reported “encouraging” results from drilling at the Daheim copper prospect within its Witvlei project in Namibia.

The company said 11 of the 13 reverse circulation (RC) holes completed at the prospect intersected copper, with grades peaking at 2.1 per cent copper over a three-metre interval in hole 22DHRC24.

Results include three metres at 2.1 per cent copper from 54 metres, four metres at 1.7 per cent copper from 43 metres, and three metres at 1.6 per cent copper from 135 metres.

This RC program acted as a follow-up to an initial 13-hole program conducted earlier this year. Hole 22DHRC24 sits over 500 metres west of the intercepts from the first program and significantly expands the prospect, according to Noronex.

“We are very pleased to have intercepted significant copper in the extension drilling at Daheim, with shallow high-grade intersection widths defined in a number of these holes,” Chief Geologist Bruce Hooper said.

“Especially encouraging is the new intercept in hole 22DHRC24 some 500 metres west of the original intersections.”

Subsequent downhole geophysical logging of the RC holes at Daheim has provided the company with key data for targeting mineralisation on the sandstone-shale contact, with further drilling now underway at the prospect.

Meanwhile, at the Snowball joint venture project, the company has completed a seven-hole RC drilling program that focused on the Erfenis prospect. Drilling tested over six kilometres of the prospective NPF-D’Kar contact on the basement high.

While the holes intersected a prospective black shale reductant near the targeted contact, Noronex said it did not observe any copper mineralisation.

The next planned drilling at Snowball will test the ‘domal’ target on the Helm prospect, which is considered to be highly prospective. Noronex is progressing land access approvals before it can begin drilling.

Noronex shares were trading grey at 6.5 cents at 12:19 pm AEST.
