Lake Resources (LKE) has appointed David Dickson as CEO and Managing Director, effective September 15.

Mr Dickson’s appointment followed a six-month search for the right fit and he was selected due to having more than 30 years’ experience spanning the process technology, energy, engineering and construction sectors.

Currently, he is a Senior Advisor to private equity firm, Quantum Energy Partners, and an Executive Strategic Advisor to investment firm, The Chatterjee Group.

In April 2021, Mr Dickson left his role as CEO of McDermott International after being in that position for more than seven years.

In this role he oversaw the merger with CB&I and grew the company to over 30,000 employees across 54 markets.

Before joining McDermott, Mr Dickson was the President of Technip USA and was appointed to the board of the US National Safety Council and a member of the World Hydrogen Council.

“David combines proven leadership experience and engineering expertise with a deep strategic understanding of off-taker and investor perspectives on energy supply chains,” Executive Chair Stuart Crow said.

“David knows all the major oilfield services and EPCM contractors who are looking to expand into the renewable economy – at a time when major projects are struggling to source this capability and support.”

As CEO and Managing Director of Lake, Mr Dickson’s experience will support the company’s growth and its mission to become a leader in the supply of responsibly sourced and environmentally friendly high-purity lithium.

“Lake Resources has the opportunity to set a new global standard for producing clean, high-purity lithium at speed and scale, at a time when lithium demand is growing rapidly,” Mr Dickson commented.

“To be a part of the global energy transition and bring a crucial new technology into large scale lithium production is an immense privilege.”

Lake was up 2.07 per cent on the market with shares trading at $1.23 each at 11:48 am AEST.
