Ora Banda Mining (OBM) has appointed CEO Luke Creagh as Managing Director.

A mining engineer with over two decades of experience, Mr Creagh has worked for both contracting and mining companies on projects in Australia and overseas.

He has held the CEO position since July 4 and before that, was appointed the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Northern Star Resources (NST).

Prior to that, he held various senior positions within Northern Star, including General Manager Business Development, General Manager Strategy & Growth, and Operations Manager.

Mr Creagh holds a Bachelor of Engineering specialising in mining from the University of Queensland and holds a Western Australian first class mine manager’s certificate.

Chairman Peter Mansell said Mr Creagh is well placed to lead the company and extract maximum value from Ora Banda’s highly prospective land package.

“He is an outstanding individual who is well qualified to guide Ora Banda in future and we look forward to continuing the journey with him to drive value through operational execution, exploration and resource definition,” he said.

The company confirmed there will be no change to Mr Creagh’s remuneration and will seek shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting for issue of his sign-on shares and performance rights.

Additionally, the company also announced the departure of two Non-Executive Directors, David Quinlivan and Mark Wheatley.

Mr Mansell thanked them for their contribution since their appointment in April 2019.

“David successfully guided the company through its recapitalisation in mid-2019 as Managing Director and CEO before stepping down to a Non-Executive Director role in July 2021,” he said.

“The company has greatly valued Mark’s guidance and extensive experience in the resources industry throughout his tenure as a Non-Executive Director.

“My colleagues and I are very grateful for David’s and Mark’s service and wish them both all the very best for the future.”

Shares in Ora Banda Mining were up 9.43 per cent and trading at 5.8 nearing market close.
