Catalano Seafood (CSF) has entered a supply agreement to stock its products into Western Australia’s first Coles Local store.

The West Australian family-owned seafood business will see its products be sold at the Coles Local store in South Perth once it opens next month.

Founded in 2018, Coles Local is owned by supermarket conglomerate Coles Supermarkets and was established to enter the small format store market and develop closer relationships with local suppliers.

Since it formed, Coles Local has been expanded to 15 sites across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Catalano Seafood CEO Nick Catalano said the deal marks an “important step” in the company’s expansion plans.

“We are very pleased to have secured this agreement with a recognisable and well-respected brand, with the opportunity to grow the Catalano brand within a large supermarket network,” he said.

“Our focus on providing high-quality Australian seafood to discerning consumers around the country very much fits the Coles Local partnership strategy.”

While this deal is solely for the South Perth store, the company expects to expand into more Coles Local locations in the Perth metropolitan area as they open.

CSF shares were up 1.11 per cent to trade at 9.1 cents at market close.
