Ragusa Minerals (RAS) has confirmed multiple “significant” pegmatite intersections from a recent bout of drilling at its NT lithium project in the Northern Territory.

The company is undertaking a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program in the area, targeting lithium-bearing pegmatites beneath the weathering profile, as is evident at the Core lithium project to the north.

So far, Ragusa has completed eight RC holes, with several having intercepted pegmatites of significant thickness at varying depths. One drill hole intersected 27 metres of pegmatite from a 16-metre depth, and another intersected 19 metres from a 69-metre depth.

Ragusa said geological logging in multiple holes had found a “substantial” amount of “apple-green crystals” within the pegmatite.

While these are yet to be classified, Ragusa said the crystals were of “major interest” to the company given that beryl, spodumene and amblygonite all commonly existed as green crystals within lithium-bearing pegmatites.

“The company is highly encouraged by the extent and breadth of the pegmatites drilled to date and the preliminary drilling observations noting the scale of the pegmatite zones at our strategic and highly-prospective NT lithium project,” Ragusa Chair Jerko Zuvela said.

RC drilling will continue to target lithium-bearing pegmatites, with the results and other geological data aimed at delineating an exploration target for the NT project.

Ragusa shares last traded at 30 cents on October 25.
