Riversgold (RGL) has expanded its footprint in the Mt Holland area of Western Australia after being granted four new exploration licenses by the state government.
The Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) granted the new licences, which combined span 32 square kilometres. This increases RGL’s Mt Holland project landholding to 41.2 square kilometres.
Riversgold said the tenements were “highly prospective” for lithium in spodumene-rich pegmatites, and the company plans to begin on-ground exploration within two weeks.
“We continue to grow aggressively our footprint in the Mt Holland area, our second lithium project area in Western Australia,” Riversgold Chief Executive Officer Julian Ford said.
“I’m also pleased to advise that we are now ready to start on-ground exploration on our project next to Mt Holland and expect our surface geochemical soil sampling crews to be on-site in around two weeks.”
Mr Ford said information from the upcoming soil sampling program would assist with targeting drill sites for its 2023 maiden drilling program.
Riversgold shares were trading at 4.4 cents at 12:22 pm AEDT.
