Ausmon Resources (AOA) has begun a phase three field exploration program at the Brungle Creek and McAlpine tenements in New South Wales.

These prospects lie 95 kilometres east of Wagga Wagga and south of Jervois Mining’s Thuddungra cobalt project.

Ausmon on Wednesday said it would carry out soil and rock sampling across the seven targets that were identified from a satellite alteration study in the area and mapping at areas with elevated historical gold and copper rock chip results from previous explorers.

The field team will use Ausmon’s Olympus Vanta pXRF instrument to collect multi-element geochemical readings at the prospects. Any selected samples with elevated cobalt and other base metal reading will be sent to a NSW-based ALS lab for analysis.

Ausmon has not yet confirmed whether it will conduct further exploration following the program, as this will depend on the findings from this fieldwork.

In case future exploration will be required, the company’s Chief Technical Officer will meet with landholders to discuss future work and access agreements in preparation.

Company shares closed grey at 0.7 cents on Thursday afternoon.
