Ventia Services (VNT) has extended its contract with the Western Australia government to provide court security and custodial services.

The new agreement is valued at around $229 million over a four-year term, commencing from March 2023, with the potential to extend the contract for a further five years.

Ventia has been assisting the government and Department of Corrections to create safer communities and reduce recidivism by providing justice services with a “welfare-led approach”.

Group Executive Defence and Social Infrastructure Derek Osborn said the WA government has been a valued client for the past six years.

“Ventia brings a client-focused, innovative and sustainable approach to essential infrastructure services,” he said.

“The unique and dynamic challenges involved in a contract like this requires an operator that is able to balance security and welfare in complex operating environments.”

The company operates across a broad range of industry segments, including defence, social infrastructure, water, electricity and gas, resources, environmental services, telecommunications and transport.

Shares in Ventia Services were down 1.87 per cent, trading at $2.37 at 1:25 pm AEDT.
