Zinc of Ireland NL has announced the preliminary metallurgical test work at the Kildare Project has returned positive results.

These results demonstrate the potential for this project to produce high quality and marketable lead and zinc concentrates.

This round of testing was designed to support ongoing and future assessments of the economic potential of Kildare. The sample taken comprised of a 50kg quarter HQ diamond drill core taken from the main zone.

Results were 10.1 per cent zinc and 1.8 per cent lead. Although these results are suggestive of what lays there it is expected that refinements will be taken to maximise future works.

According to Executive Director Patrick Corr these results exceeded their expectations.

“These preliminary test work results have exceeded our expectations, even given that Irish-type zone projects, such as Kildare, are renowned for their outstanding metallurgical performance,” he said.

Additional metallurgical test work will be undertaken to support more detailed analysis and assessment.
