US-based Visioneering Technologies (VTI) has announced the appointment of Dr Juan Carlos Aragón as its newest CEO and Executive Director, effective from October 1, 2023.

Dr Aragón is considered a seasoned leader in the vision care industry with in excess of three decades of experience and has held senior leadership positions in major international vision care companies, overseeing divisions across the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

Notably, he previously served as the President of CooperVision’s specialty eyecare division, where he managed a diverse range of contact lens products, including those designed for myopia management, for global markets, including China.

“We are delighted to have Dr Aragón join the VTI team to help lead the company through the next phase of its growth.” VTI Chair Dr David J. Mazzo said.

 “With his extensive experience in global business leadership, myopia management expertise, and knowledge of the Chinese vision care market, he is ideally positioned to drive Visioneering towards even greater success.”

Dr Aragón will receive a fixed remuneration of US$400,000 per annum.

VTI shares last traded at 22 cents.
