HotCopper commentators are paying attention to digital human company Unith (ASX:UNT) today after multiple actions were lodged to re-shape the board, including the removal of directors.

The company has reiterated its commitment to commercialising its Digital Human platform and claims the 249D notice to remove directors Sytze Voulon and Justin Baird from the board is invalid as a signatory ‘does not appear on the Unith share register’.

The board and management allege this is a response to its recent formal request for Director Matthew Blake to stand down.

The board reported that “various events and actions” had led to a significant breakdown of trust between Matthew Blake and the rest of management.

It is believed that Mr Blake’s decisions were influenced by external parties including the global leader in human behaviours artificial intelligence (AI), NVISO, whose interests do not align with those of UNITH and its stakeholders.

“We assure UNITH shareholders of our commitment to high standards of corporate governance and transparency, we will provide further updates as the situation evolves and the investigation continues,” UNT Chair Sytze Voulon said.

As a result of the 249D request, UNT directors must schedule a meeting within 21 days after the request, and the meeting must take place no later than two months from the initial complaint.

UNT shares last traded at 1.8 cents.
