U.S. President Donald Trump has flagged tariff exemptions for Australian steel and aluminium after a call with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Aussie earnings season is in full swing with no shortage of positive news. Investors have been buoyed by the news and have pushed the bourse to higher ground.

Utilities and Industrials have been the best-performing sector, up 1%, followed by Discretionary, up 0.7%.

Health Care has been the only sector to lose ground, down 2.4%.

Nine Entertainment (ASX:NEC) has been up more than 11% in response to Seven West’s assessment that advertising is bouncing back.

Nine has been $1.43.

Breville (ASX:BRG) has been down 0.03% after increasing its dividend from to 18c per share and said it expected full-year earnings to gain between 5% to 10%.

Breville has been $37.71.

Ramsay Healthcare (ASX:RHC) lifted 1.8%, despite an anticipated $305 million impairment charge for the six months ending December 31.

Ramsay Healthcare has been $34.86.
