With more than seven million users on the HotCopper forums, every discussion and speculation can move Australian markets – which is why getting out in front of those trends is so important for any trader worth their salt.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

In this daily HotCopper Trends column, we break down the top three stocks talked about on any given trade day, and why they’ve drawn a daily focus.

It’s nearly all trading halts among the top-trending companies on the forums today, with Vection Technologies (ASX:VR1) drawing the most attention after halting before “a strategic raise” as well as a bolt-on acquisition.

While many on the forums said they thought it was “promising,” only time will tell whether things get more exciting for Vection after the pause.

VR1 was last selling at 6.8cps; it’s been up as much as +127% YTD.

Invictus Energy (ASX:IVZ) also halted today; the Australian company shared one of the shortest stop announcements this HotCopper writer has seen.

The whole release reads: “Trading in the securities of the entity will be temporarily paused pending a further announcement.” The energy company’s ticker code and plan to stop trade is, of course, also included.

IVZ shares had dumped -27% this morning.

Finally, AnteoTech (ASX:ADO) unveiled a joint development and sales agreement it signed with Black Diamond Structures in the U.S. this week.

The deal will combine AnteoTech’s “cross linker,” Anteo X, and BDS’s proprietary single and multi-walled carbon nanotube dispersions, sold as Molecular Rebar, into an advanced battery product to “enable a step change.”

And for the wider ASX, things are green; the bourse is up +0.24%.
