Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) has received a takeover offer from NYSE-listed United States Antimony Corporation for $1.40/sh – something HotCopper users found low in this first-round approach from Larvotto’s U.S.-listed counterpart.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

That could be because Larvotto has more than just Australia’s biggest undeveloped antimony play; it’s also got evidence of gold and tungsten on-site at its Hillgrove play, too.

But nothing’s yet come out of the ground, according to latest reports – suggesting that American peers are watching what’s going on Down Under as much as Australian companies are looking to the States.

What’s also relatively notable about Monday’s offer from USAC is that it comes right on the cusp of a meeting between Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, a diplomatic event where negotiations around access to critical mineral deposits are set to become a theme of the meet and greet.

Ambassador (and former PM) Kevin Rudd spent much of last week rounding up ASX-listed companies, especially those exposed to the U.S., to bring to the table for Donald Trump’s meeting with Albo. Now, perhaps, the U.S. President will be made aware that in the lead-up to his meeting with Albo, Larvotto Resources received a takeover offer from red-blooded American outfit USAC.

Talk about landing on the radar. At home, rare earths juniors and producers alike also spent last week having a very good run since China further curbed rare earth exports.

Key to that investor calculus is that Australia, in line with the States, may soon be introducing price floors for key critical minerals, especially NdPr, for which the Pentagon did the same earlier this year for MP Materials, a company headed by a rather enthusiastic Republican donor.

LRV last traded at $1.31/sh.
