Killi Resources (ASX: KLI) is now testing a significant new gold-copper-molybdenum anomaly at the King Louie prospect in the Mt Rawdon West Project in Queensland. The 1,100-metre by 225-metre anomaly is located just 20 kilometres northwest of the Mt Rawdon gold mine in the Bundaberg region.

Recent Mt Rawdon exploration was successful in further refining the Baloo targets and opened new ground with the King Louie breccia discovery.

Killi’s chief executive, Brett Smith, told company shareholders today that the discovery of a breccia at King Louie is particularly significant because it potentially delineates a focus of tectonic activity and hydrothermal fluid-flow.

He added that, importantly, breccias are commonly associated with mineral deposits formed within porphyry copper-gold and epithermal copper-gold systems, which are the exploration models for the Mt Rawdon West project.

“The tenor of the breccia… at the geochemical anomaly is considered highly significant, as the surrounding country rock has a background geochemical value (soil assays) of around 4.7 parts per billion gold,” he explained.

Killi has identified the King Louie breccia as a priority drill target, and it is currently assessing the best physical access route for drilling equipment.

Ahead of that, the company is focused on more mapping and sampling around the King Louie extensions, with the Australian explorer aiming to hit the ground in March. Proposed work programs are likely to include ridgeline and spur rock chip sampling as well as soil sampling and mapping.

The company is also working to acquire permission for a test of the Rawdon fault and Wonbah geochemical/magnetic anomalies within the Baloo area.

KLI has been steady at 4.1cps today.
