  • Large-scale, shallow CRD antimony system defined at Los Lirios; 10 of 11 drill holes intersected a laterally extensive CRD-style limestone unit
  • Shallow system defined in 3D modelling, open in multiple directions.
  • Drilling ties in with channel sampling of the unit, with antimony grades up to 30.2%.

EV Resources (ASX:EVR) has made an exploration breakthrough at Los Lirios this month, defining a large-scale, shallow carbonate replacement (CRD) style antimony system at the 70% owned Mexican project.

CRD-style antimony systems are considered critical for exploring high-volume, potentially high-grade antimony deposits as they often feature significant horizontal mineral extension along specific limestone or dolomite units.

The discovery came with ten of eleven drill holes from first pass drilling at Lirios 1 successfully intersecting the laterally extensive, shallow CRD system.

EV Resources’ CEO, Mike Brown, said the system remains open in multiple directions and represents a significant milestone in the advancement of the project.

“Intersecting this shallow CRD unit in 10 of 11 holes confirms Los Lirios is a system-scale target. CRD deposits are the world’s largest class of antimony mineralisation and offer significant scale potential relative to epithermal vein type deposits,” he explained to EV Resources shareholders today.

“The geometry, grade of channel samples and structural controls are consistent with that kind of scale. We now have a clear, well-defined target as we advance towards an Exploration Target and maiden JORC resource.”

Mr Brown said structural and geological evidence to date has been corroborated by high-grade channel sampling at surface, providing strong early confidence in the scale and continuity of the Los Lirios system.

He added CRD deposits represent the largest global source of antimony and are typically associated with large-scale, long-life mineral systems.

“The geometry, alteration, and structural controls observed… are consistent with internationally significant CRD-style antimony deposits. Confirming this system type marks a first critical upgrade in the scale thesis,” he told shareholders.

The company has also received positive results from a second batch of 18 lower-priority channel samples from Los Lirios. These confirm the widespread distribution of mineralisation within historical workings.

The results are consistent with the emerging regional scale of the system and support planning for expanded exploration across the broader Los Lirios tenement.

EVR is advancing towards both an exploration target and maiden JORC mineral resource estimate, underpinned by the location of the Tecomatlán processing plant just 50km away and already in active refurbishment.

EVR is steady at 0.9¢ today. Mkt cap $27.36M.
