Hello, hello, and welcome to HotCopper Highlights for Week 17, CY26, I’m Isaac McIntyre. In this segment, we wrap up the stocks and company announcements you were watching this week on Australia’s #1 finance website. Let’s get straight into it, starting with the most viewed – PLS Group (ASX:PLS).
Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.
Look, PLS Group (formerly Pilbara Minerals) topping the charts this week is partly just because there are so many HotCopper forum users invested in the company, and the lithium producer had shared its March quarter update early Friday morning, but there was enough good news for everyone to check it out.
The numbers were solid: A 52% jump in quarterly revenue, to $567M, helped by stronger lithium prices and “disciplined execution,” and $1.45B cash.
The market liked the numbers enough to see PLS to nearly $5.90 today.
Beyond that, in HotCopper‘s most watched, New Murchison Gold (ASX:NMG) drew eyes after finding deeper high-grade gold at Crown Prince East. The discovery at the satellite deposit could spur the new gold producer to move quickly from drill core action to the mine plan it’s been cooking up for CY26.
And, Viva Energy (ASX:VEA) has continued to grab headlines in Week 17. The energy producer dropped in value after it returned to trade, but that was always going to happen after the Geelong refinery fire. Most recently, Viva’s boss, Scott Wyatt, called for the country to build more modern refineries.
Now, onto the most discussed. Cochlear (ASX:COH) was king here, though for all the wrong reasons, after its guidance miss early-week sent it tumbling – and then the Health sector and the whole bourse followed for a red day.
Also getting chins wagging: Great Divide Mining (ASX:GDM). The Australian explorer just started recovering and processing mullock at its mining lease, which includes Currajong, at the Challenger Gold Mine in Adelong. HotCopper forum users especially liked the Oz company’s climb to +20% YTD.
Finally, Pioneer Minerals (ASX:PMM) popped up all through the week after joining the Defense Industrial Base Consortium. Up +2.7% to Friday.
That’s the highlights from HotCopper for Week 17. See you next week.
