Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) has officially started its 3,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme across its Coolgardie lithium work sites, which sit in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. The initiative aims to advance early exploration at both the Kangaroo Hills and Miriam projects.

Drilling at Kangaroo Hills will largely focus on testing extensions at the Big Red and Potoroo prospects and building on results from May this year.

At Big Red, the explorer will target the northeastern extensions where earlier drilling is interpreted to have not fully intersected the thicker, higher-grade zones.

At Potoroo, follow-up drilling will assess the continuity and extent of mineralisation along a north-south strike to evaluate regional-scale pegmatite potential. Old May results included intercepts like 34 metres at 1.11% lithium oxide from 77 metres at Big Red, and 18 metres at 1.03% lithium oxide from 103 metres.

The RC programme also includes first-pass target testing at neighbouring Miriam, where lithium-targeted drilling has not previously been conducted.

Past sampling at Miriam defined large-scale targets at 1.85% oxide, alongside a 1.6km primary and a linked 600m secondary. Magnetic geophysics identified 13 discrete outcropping pegmatites over a 6-by-1.5km area.

“Exploration activity across the Coolgardie projects continues to accelerate, with a strong pipeline of news flow expected over coming months,” Ore’s managing director and CEO, Nick Rathjen, told shareholders today.

“Together with our gold exploration programmes, Ore remains well positioned to continue unlocking value across its broader Coolgardie projects portfolio.”

HotCopper understands that assay results from Ore’s newly commenced RC programme are now expected to come back in late August CY26.

Elsewhere, the company is nearly finished with its Kangaroo Hills lithium diamond drilling programme, with core being progressively submitted for geochemical analysis. Results there should come back at the same time.

Heading into Wednesday, OR3 is at 7.1cps.
