Vanadium Resources (ASX: VR8) was popular on the HotCopper forum after it announced a wholly owned subsidiary has reached an agreement to supports its strategy to develop a next-generation critical minerals smelter.

The V-Iron Plant will utilise ore from the company’s world-class Steelpoortdrift project.

Executive chairman, Jurie Wessels, said VR8 considers the site a strong candidate for the proposed construction of the company’s next‐generation critical minerals smelter V‐Iron Plant.

“By re‐establishing vanadium and iron co‐production on a brownfield site with a proven industrial pedigree, VR8 gains material advantages in cost, schedule and permitting relative to a greenfield development.”

VR8 jumped 57.9% to 3.0¢.

MaxiPARTS (ASX: MXI) was up on news it had received a proposal from Ares Management Asia Singapore to acquire 100% of the shares in MaxiPARTS for a cash offer price of $2.50 per share.

The MaxiPARTS Board has determined that it is in the best interests of shareholders to enter into an exclusivity deed to facilitate a four week exclusivity period for Ares to complete due diligence and negotiate a scheme implementation deed with the intention of agreeing a binding transaction.

MaxiPARTS has also entered into a binding agreement to acquire the assets of Air Brake Systems Unit Trust (ABS), one of Australia’s largest suppliers of brake system components for heavy duty trucks, buses and trailers, covering most global OE vehicle and component manufacturers and their related aftermarkets.

Acquisition of the assets of ABS for $11.2 million with 75% payment on completion and 12.5% paid at one and two-years post completion subject to specific performance criteria being met.

MXI was up 28.7% to $2.20.

Dotz Nano (ASX: DTZ) has announced three milestones in the build-out of its Dotz Energy decarbonisation and energy-savings platform.

This includes a confidential letter of intent with Eneriqs AI covering a proposed technology licence and an option to acquire Eneriqs assets.

Dotz Energy has also achieved first commercial customer agreement, a pilot deployment of ChillerAI with Limassol Shopping Centre and a reseller and revenue-share agreement with Bridgeford Group appointing Bridgeford as a commercialisation and distribution partner for Dotz ChillerAI solutions.

“The Eneriqs technology adds an important new layer to our Dotz Energy decarbonisation and energy- savings stack,” CEO, Nati Harpaz, said.

DTZ climbed 50.0% to 2.4¢.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was up today, gaining 37.20 points or 0.41% to 9,015.60 after setting a new 20-day low. The index has lost 0.25% for the last five days but sits 3.02% below its 52-week high.

Elsewhere, the ABS has reported the first drop in theft and robbery in Australia since COVID-19

Victims of theft (excluding motor vehicles) and robbery recorded by police in 2025 fell for the first time since declines in 2020 and 2021 respectively, according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Samantha Hall, ABS head of crime and justice statistics, said that nationally, in 2025 the number of robbery victims dropped by eight per cent from the previous year to 10,591 victims, while theft victims fell by two per cent.

Robbery and theft numbers declined in most states and territories. Queensland recorded the largest decrease in robbery (down 403 victims or 13 per cent), followed by New South Wales (down 255 victims or 11 per cent).
