Centaurus Metals has announced drilling at the Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project has intersected multiple broad zones of semi-massive and massive nickel sulphides.

The company is conducting a maiden drilling campaign at the project in north-eastern Brazil.

So far, three diamond holes (515 metres) have been drilled for the 10,000 metre drill program targeting the Jaguar South and Onça-Preta deposits.

Geologists have indicated the sulphide zones correlate “extremely well” with historical high-grade nickel sulphide intersections and with the down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) and fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) conductor plates.

“We’re delighted to have intersected multiple broad zones of semi-massive to massive nickel sulphides in our very first drill holes at both the Jaguar South and Onça-Preta deposits,” Managing Director Darren Gordon said.

“We have two clear objectives with our maiden drill campaign at Jaguar – firstly to extend the known high-grade nickel sulphide intersections and, secondly, to identify new high-grade nickel sulphide zones,” he added.

Jaguar South extends over a 1.4 kilometre strike length and is open at depth and along strike to the east.

Inspections have indicated the JAG-DD-19-002 hole intersected similar characteristics to historical drill hole PKS-JAGU-DH00065, which returned an intercept of 34 metres at 3.31 per cent nickel.

Drilling of the JAG-DD-19-005 hole at the Jaguar South Deposit is already underway with additional step-out holes planned to further test the along strike and down-dip extensions of the highly conductive DHEM plate.

The Onça-Preta deposit hosts a strong 100 metre-long DHEM conductor plate
located within a broader long FLEM conductor that’s similar to historical nickel sulphides.

Diamond drill-hole JAG-DD-19-001 was drilled to confirm the continuity of high-grade mineralisation as seen in PKS-JAGU-DH00014.

JAG-DD-19-003 was drilled on a previously untested section, 50 metres along strike from JAG-DD-19-001.

Drilling at JAG-DD-19-004 is currently underway along with logging and sampling.

First assay results are expected in mid-December.

Centaurus Metals’ shares are up 3.33 per cent, and trading for 1.6 cents each at 12:02 pm AEDT.
