Australian Bauxite Limited has hit target bauxite processing ahead of schedule. ABX was contracted by Hazel Bros contractors to mine Bald Hill in Tasmania.

The contract mandated production of 30,000 to 33,000 tonnes of bauxite by May 1. ABX announced today production of 31,600 tonnes of Bauxite as of April 9, three weeks ahead of schedule.

The company also reported the quality of bauxite was well above contracted requirements as well.

Mining will continue at the Bald Hill Bauxite project in Tasmania until the end of the week, projection to produce over 33,000 tonnes.

The company stated the project will produce several year’s supplies of bauxite in the future. Production on site began earlier this year on January 30.

ABX contracted with QUBE Logistics for shipping and stockpiling arrangements at Bell Bay port Tasmania. Rehabilitation of soil has been carried out, as per ABX standard practice. Bauxite mineral is the world’s main source of aluminum.
