Aeon Metals (AML) has received “robust” drill results from the Le Mans zone within its Walford Creek copper-cobalt project in Queensland.

The 33-hole drilling effort reportedly validated the Walford Creek geological model along a further 2.1 kilometres of the Fish River Fault.

Highlighted assays from the PY3 unit include 47 metres at 1.04 per cent copper equivalent from 565 metres and 41 metres at 1.19 per cent copper equivalent from 541 metres.

The PY1 unit returned an intercept of 60 metres at 0.7 per cent copper equivalent from 379 metres.

“These latest results from Le Mans provide further confirmation that the mineralisation in both PY1 and PY3 units extends for over 10 kilometres of strike adjacent to the Fish River Fault, from the Amy West zone through to the Vardy zone,” Aeon Managing Director and CEO Fred Hess said.

Aeon Metals said the drill results showed the Le Mans zone had the potential to host “significant mineralisation” in both the PY1 and PY3 units, similar to all other known zones within the Walford Creek system along the Fish River Fault.

The company plans to use the results from its 13,255-metre drilling program to deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Le Mans zone in early 2023.

AML shares were up 3.45 per cent to end the day at 3 cents per share.
