AFT Pharmaceuticals (ASX: AFP) is continuing to see strong growth across its established Australian and New Zealand markets, while international and Asian operations provide an increasing source of momentum.
The company remains on track for its $300 million FY27 revenue target and has maintained operating profit guidance of $28 million to $32 million.
In this Watchlist interview, AFT Managing Director Dr Hartley Atkinson discusses what is driving the growth, the opportunities opening up across international markets and the key milestones investors should be watching through the rest of FY27.
AFT recently out-licensed Maxigesic IV into Japan and the Philippines, giving the company access to further markets across Asia. Japan is the world’s third-largest pharmaceutical market, making the new agreement a potentially significant opportunity as AFT continues to expand its international footprint.
The US represents an even larger opportunity. AFT has launched Maxigesic Rapid through Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs, with Atkinson describing the US rollout as a work in progress and an important area to watch as the company builds its presence in the world’s largest pharmaceutical market.
Alongside sales growth, AFT continues to progress its R&D portfolio, which management believes contains significant latent value. The company has begun its large global study of a novel injectable iron product, with trial sites rolling out across multiple regions.
For AFT, the focus for the remainder of FY27 is therefore twofold: continuing to deliver growth across its existing business while progressing the international expansion and R&D projects that could support the company’s longer-term growth.
