Aguia Resources (AGR) has recorded ‘positive’ results from agronomic tests on oat crops using Direct Application Natural Fertiliser (DANF) products.
These products come from the Três Estradas Phosphate Project (TEPP) in Brazil which the company is aiming to be in production by Q1 2022.
Aguia’s DANF products, Pampafos and Lavrato, were applied to oat crops under a partnership with Such Soluções Comerciais, a key distributor of fertiliser and agriproducts in southern Brazil.
The tests were also supervised by Integer Gestāo e Inovação Agropecuária, an independent agronomic consulting firm.
The oat was seeded in flat soil during the winter of June 2021 and the nutrients were applied by launching in the field.
Five treatments were deployed across a total area of five hectares with one treatment per hectare.
Treatment one was a control test with no phosphorus pentoxide, treatments two and three used Pampafos with 100 kilograms and 200 kilograms of phosphorus pentoxide, respectively, treatment four used Lavrato with 100 kilograms of phosphorus pentoxide and treatment five used a conventional phosphate fertiliser with 100 kilograms of phosphorus pentoxide.
The results for treatments two, three, four and five were similar and all exceeded the results from treatment one.
Treatment five returned the highest dry matter with 4442 kilograms per hectare, closely followed by treatment three with returned 4210 kilograms per hectare.
The results confirm fertiliser products from the TEPP are effective in providing macronutrients to plants.
Aguia plans to repeat these tests during the Brazilian winter of 2022.
These products have now been tested on soybean, oats, rice, core and wheat crops, all of which returned excellent results.
Managing Director Dr Fernando Tallarico said the results were a positive development.
“[They] reinforce that both Pampafos and Lavrato are highly efficient natural phosphate sources and will have broad applicability across a range of crops,” he said.
“We look forward to announcing further results with the continuity of the agronomic tests using our products from the TEPP.”
Aguia rounded off the day of trading at 4.7 cents.
