Altura Mining (AJM) has found 37 gold nuggets, weighing a total of 25 grams, at its Lucky 13 prospect near the Pilgangoora mine.

The nuggets were found within a mapped geological and structural corridor that is approximately four kilometres in length between the Cleopatra and Hazelby prospects.

The three new gold prospects are 4.5 kilometres south-southeast of Altura’s Lithium Project at Pilgangoora in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

“Geologically, the location of this nugget find is significant, given the proximity to an altered contact between a thick highly strained komatiite intrusive and high-Mg basalt unit,” the company explained.

What’s next?

Altura is now planning to complete a soil sampling program along the Cleopatra-Hazelby corridor.

The program aims to target the mapped and sampled horizons that show gold mineralisation.

“Soil sampling is likely to be a highly effective test of the various prospects due to shallow soil cover within the corridor. Further outcrop samples will also be collected during this fieldwork,” the company added.

Last week, the company recorded a strong quarter with an increase in production and exports.

Altura is up 4.84 per cent on the market this morning and is trading for 6.5 cents per share at 11:05 am AEST.
