Antipa Minerals (ASX: AZY) has kicked off major drilling chasing new discoveries at its district-scale Minyari project in the Paterson Province. The explorer’s MD, Roger Mason, said the campaign is expected to run for three to four months and will be fully funded through Antipa’s existing cash balance.

“We’re excited to be drilling again across our Minyari project, with a large portion of planned metres in this program directed towards delivering new discoveries across this highly prospective gold-copper-silver mining province,” he said.

“We are confident that the scale and quality of our tenure provide a genuine opportunity to build a pipeline of additional deposits proximate to our stand-alone development opportunity.”

The new discovery portion of the campaign will comprise 258 holes for approximately 26,540 metres, including 205 air core holes (13,280m), 51 RC holes (11,960m) and two diamond core holes (1,300m).

Priority gold and copper greenfield targets and existing prospects proximate to the Minyari Dome deposits to be drilled include Tim’s Dome, AL01, Chicken Ranch, Jezabeel, Judes and Yolanda.

Targeted expansion of the existing near-surface Minyari Dome mineral resource is scheduled to comprise 63 holes for approximately 14,200m, including 61 RC holes (13,000m) and two diamond core holes (1,200m).

“Importantly, our strong cash position allows us to complete this program while continuing to advance parallel technical workstreams aimed at derisking our development opportunity,” Mr Mason said.

Antipa’s previous exploration success at Minyari includes the discovery of several significant mineral deposits in the Minyari Dome gold-copper precinct, which forms the basis of an ongoing pre-feasibility study.

AZY has opened at 70¢. Mkt cap $463.8M.
