The ASX200 has been up 1.1% at 8315 points in afternoon trade.

Gold stocks have bounced back today in response to a resurgent gold price. The safe-haven precious metal has been trading at US$2700 per ounce.

All sectors have chalked up gains, and IT is the best performer, up 2.1%, followed by Materials, up 1.7% and Real Estate, up 1.5%.

Company News

Fortescue (ASX:FMG) has surged 2.4%, along with other iron ore players, as expectations of further Chinese big bang stimulus continue to rise.

First Graphene (ASX:FGR) has been down 3.8% after reporting guidance for FY25. The company plans to bolster its position as a global leader in graphene supply.

First Graphene has been 3.8 cents.

Vulcan Energy (ASX:VUL) has been up 6.6% after launching the first production of lithium hydroxide from its facility in Germany. The company is among the first ASX-listed companies to supply critical minerals to European markets.

Vulcan Minerals has been $5.04.
