The ASX200 has performed strongly so far today, gaining about 0.9%.
This has come in the wake of a solid night on Wall Street, where the S&P500 and Nasdaq broke records again, and the S&P500 surpassed 5,600 points for the first time.
All sectors on the ASX have been sitting comfortably in the green. IT is leading the way up nearly one and a half per cent and Real Estate and Materials have both lifted around 1.3%.
The Commonwealth Bank (ASX:CBA) has gained more than three quarters of a per cent to hit yet another record high and continuing its domination as the top dog on the ASX. It has been trading above $129.50 ($129.53).

To smaller cap companies, Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG) gained more than 260% out of the gate in morning trade on rock chip sample results from its Ti-tree project in Western Australia.
Augustus announced copper grades as high as 35 percent and gold at 10 grams per tonne.
The stock has given up some of its early gains but is still more than 160% ahead.
AUG has been trading at 10 cents.
Renascor Resources (ASX:RNU) has been granted $5M from the federal government to support the company’s $10M battery anode material (BAM) project in South Australia.
The grant will cover nearly half of the capital needed for its spherical graphite processing plant.
RNU has been trading higher on the news around 9.3 cents
And, Telix Pharmaceuticals (ASX:TLX) has added 11.5% on news the US government will continue to support rebates for the company’s prostate cancer imaging drug.
The assurance has allayed fears the company could be adversely affected by changes to Medicare in the US.
TLX has been trading around $19.50.
