Athena Resources (AHN) has returned high grade graphite results following initial drilling at the Milly Milly target area in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
Drilling was completed within three target areas at the Milly Milly intrusion, based on the coincidence of a moving loop transient electromagnetic survey (MLTEM) conductor, gravity anomaly, aeromagnetic data, and geochemical path finder elements.
A reverse circulation drilling campaign was completed in October, for a total of seven holes and 1148 metres of drilling.
Graphite intersections from within Area 2 included three metres at 4.83 per cent carbon from 102 metres, including one metre at 13.02 per cent carbon from 103 metres.
Meanwhile, the discovery of the new package of prospective rock types was found in close proximity to the recently refined gravity anomaly within Area 2 at Milly Milly.
The new package includes felsic-intermediate and ultramafic rock types. The sequence was not directly associated with the main Milly Milly intrusion and may represent an eruptive sequence.
Athena Resources shares closed flat at 0.9 cents.
