Auravelle Metals (ASX: AUV) has commenced drilling at the Nuckulla Hill gold project in South Australia.

The Watchlist — short video interviews with ASX leaders. Watch now.

The discovery-focused aircore drilling program will test five targets along the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone within Nuckulla Hill.

Targets to be drilled are Sheoak North, Myall, Sauna, Bimba West and Bimba North. All five prospects have coincident gold and silver geochemical anomalism and are proximal to interpreted lithostructural targets. Furthermore, Sheoak North and Myall are along strike of Sheoak, and within a 3.5km-long zone of gold anomalism.

Following the completion of the aircore drilling, Auravelle will undertake RC drilling at Nuckulla Hill to infill and extend Sheoak, as well as test a number of other advanced targets.

“We are pleased to commence our next round of drilling at Nuckulla Hill, testing these early-stage targets. Large areas of the Yarlbrinda remain untested or have had little to no follow-up drilling,” Managing Director Andrew Muir said.

“This program will test some of those areas, which is an exciting opportunity given the prospectivity of the Yarlbrinda and its potential to host large gold deposits.”

The program is testing targets along the highly prospective Yarlbrinda Shear Zone, which hosts Barton Gold’s (ASX: BGD) neighbouring 1.6 million-ounce Tunkillia gold project.

Auravelle is well funded for the program after recently raising $1.5 million via a share placement.

Funds raised from the placement are being used for on-ground exploration at Nuckulla Hill and the company’s other regional prospects.

Upcoming activities include the receipt of results from first-pass soil sampling to define drill targets, while RC drilling of Sheoak for infill and extension is expected to kick off in early October.

AUV was steady at 0.8¢ with a Mkt cap of $5.312M prior to markets opening.
