Bison Resources (ASX:BSR) has described as “in sight” its maiden drill-run at the Nevada-based Bald Peaks prospective gold-silver project after filing a notice of intent with the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regulator.
No less than seven drill pads will test the 1.5km long ‘Carlin-type’ geochemical anomaly present on-site which sits at the X of two major geological faults, which the company reports typically coincide with mineralisation throughout the local area.
The company is gearing up to sink holes up to 300m depth in the effort to sniff out the mineralised core which potentially lies underfoot per the geochemical anomalies present. Driller contracting is progressing and the company is set to start spinning the bits in December of this year.
Bison will be using RC rigs with “optionality to tail with diamond core.”
The results of rock chip assays pulled from target areas on-site Bald Peaks are due back at the end of this month, with the “southern extension area” particularly appealing to the exploration team.
Those rock chip assays could end up changing the trajectory of the drilling campaign with the company keeping its mind open as to where best sink the holes based on what information is currently available to geotechs.
The company wrote on Tuesday that its 1.5km geochemical and alteration anomaly is “only the starting point” – 4.7km of a total magnetic low extending some 6km is yet to be sampled.
The company expects drilling clearance within the next two weeks.
Every piece of work at Bald Peaks – from our first rock chips to the recent magnetics – has strengthened the case to drill. We have a 1.5 km Carlin-type trend sitting in the same structural setting as the known deposits across the region, and lodging the Notice puts us on track to test it at depth. With a further 4.7 km of strike still to explore, this maiden program is just the beginning for Bald Peaks.
Bison Resources last traded at 29cps; over the last year, returns are up +80%.
