Minerals exploration spending remains strong in Australia.

Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has claimed most-viewed status on HotCopper on Monday morning after it intercepted 167m @ 2g/t gold on-site its Bull Oak deposit, extending mineralisation at the Sandstone Gold Project (SGP).

Drilling has been targeted to boost the company’s Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) in the Indicated category ahead of a planned pre-feas study.

The company highlighted the following drill hits on Monday:

The current MRE for the Bull Oak deposit, part of the larger SGP, sits at 10.5Mt of ore at 1g/t gold for 322,000 ounces. The company highlighted on Monday its underlying geology is similar to that of its Two Mile Hill gold deposit.

Since acquiring the Bull Oak deposit, Brightstar has grown the MRE some x4 in size and is intended to be an open pit mining operation. Overall, Sandstone is reportedly a 3.6Moz @ 1.4g/t gold project.

“The latest Bull Oak results contain further spectacular grades, including another bonanza [0.5m] intercept of 265g/t,” Brightstar MD Alex Rovira said.

“Results from this drilling will be incorporated into the next Bull Oak Mineral Resource update, which we expect will materially increase the Indicated component ahead of the upcoming Sandstone PFS.

“With the completion of the PFS drilling at Sandstone, the RC drill rig has now moved to test some exciting, early- stage exploration targets across the Sandstone Project.”

BTR last traded at 71cps.
