Tom Lambeth from VP Capital talks with former AFL great and Cerutty Macro Fund founder Chris Judd about game developer Aristocrat Leisure (ASX:ALL).

Mr Lambeth hopes the company will continue to focus on its core business of developing games – mobile & pokie – rather than platform.

“US gaming – as you and I have spoken about offline – is just going nuts in terms of demand,” Mr Lambeth said.

“It’s a bit like we saw with sports betting and wagering in the US a few years ago.

“We think it’s on a path to deregulation.

“And so with that framework you have got 7 states currently that have deregulated iGaming. And then meanwhile, the entire country has still got land-based casinos operating.

“It’s a very ripe environment I think for growth.”

He said while land-based was growing at single digit levels, digital gaming was growing at around 25% a year.

Talk Ya Book

Talk Ya Book was created by Chris Judd in 2019 as a show where fund managers could share their highest conviction investment idea and showcase their investment framework.

In 2023, Chris joined the people he interviews in the world of funds management by creating the Cerutty Macro Fund.

Chris is the founder and portfolio manager of the fund which looks to invest in long term, secular, macro trends.
