On Talk Ya Book today, AFL great turned Cerutty Macro Fund founder Chris Judd hosts Tom Waterhouse from Waterhouse VC.

Tom is from the famous Waterhouse racing family. He discovered a niche opportunity focussing on the technology layer that supplies the gambling giants such as Tabcorp (ASX:TAH).

“We have large payoffs if we can find the right technology suppliers that are going to expand – and we’ve been pretty good at that,” Tom Waterhouse said.

“We spend our whole time going around the world to gambling conferences and speed dating.

“So I’m in Lisbon next week, been in Rio, and US, and UK and Amsterdam – everywhere under the sun, just going and looking at these suppliers.

“It’s pretty interesting, I love the space, and, obviously it’s the only industry I’ve ever been in and I know it pretty well.”

Waterhouse VC invests in sports betting & racing, without focus on land-based casinos.

In today’s Talk Ya Book show, Chris Judd dives deep into the gambling industry and the regulation & taxation challenges for operators and investors in the space.
